Universal Pictures and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 release of 7 DVD Box Sets as part of The Screen Goddess Collection in October. Take the magnetism of Marilyn Monroe, the enchantment of Sophia Loren, the grace of Katherine Hepburn, the glamour of Rita Hayworth, the versatility of Doris Day, the magnetism of Barbara Stanwyck and the boldness of Mae West and you will find seven true beauties, still as captivating today as they were all those years ago.

As a celebration of their cultural influence and to honour their rightful place in cinematic history, a unique and essential collection of classic comedies, dramas and musicals will be available to purchase, in a set of highly collectable DVD box sets, from 3rd October 2005 Doris Day, Katharine Hepburn, Mae West and Rita Hayworth will be available and from 17th October Barbara Stanwyck, Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn Monroe set includes: Some Like It Hot, We Remember Marilyn, Marilyn Monroe Featuring Hometown Story, Ladies of the Chorus, The Misfits, and Marilyn Monroe Portrait of a Legend.

Sophia Loren set includes: El Cid, Pride & the Passion, Fall of the Roman Empire, White Sister, The Key and Countess From Hong Kong.

Doris Day set includes: Pillow Talk, Young at Heart, It Happened to Jane, Lover Come Back, The Thrill of It All and Send Me No Flowers.

Rita Hayworth set includes: Gilda, Salome, You’ll Never Get Rich, Lady From Shanghai, Magnificent Showman and Miss Sadie Thompson.

Katherine Hepburn set includes: Holiday, Bringing Up Baby, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, Suddenly Last Summer, Rooster Cogburn and State of the Union.

Barbara Stanywyck set includes: Double Indemnity, The Lady Eve, Bitter Tea of General Yen, Golden Boy, The Miracle Woman and All I Desire.

Mae West set includes: I’m No Angel, Klondike Annie, She Done Him Wrong, The Heat’s On, My Little Chickadee and Belle of the Nineties.
